薪火相傳

未能親身觀賞，唯有與大眾一起觀看直播

今天確是香港的大日子，我和很多香港人一樣，穿上紅色衣服，以行動支持火炬於中國境內送遞。

回到學校，一眾老師與同學到禮堂，上一節有關奧運的課。看看片段唱唱歌，很快便來到重點節目─「模擬火炬傳送活動」，其中一支火炬我也有份兒弄的，縱使我只是幫忙弄弄火種那部分。師生們把火炬一個傳一個，象徵薪火相傳，很有意義呢!

活動結束後，我本來很想到城門河邊觀賞火炬傳遞過程，可惜我們因為一個「長途會議」，耽誤了時間，當我步出校門快走到城門河邊之際，原來火炬手剛離開了。早知如此，我應立刻跑回家，因為我家也可能看到傳送路線呢。之後，我到街上走走。由於剛散席，所以街上的人很多，人人都是高高興興的，真是比國慶還熱鬧，我第一次感到大家(包括自己)都視自己為真真正正的中國人，亦以此為傲。


然而，中國舉辦本屆奧運真是好事多磨，發生了許許多多的風波。而嘉祺前幾天給我看了一首詩，是關於其他國家怎樣看中國，亦使身為中國人的我們感觸良多，詩的內容是這樣的:


When we are billed to be the next Superpower, we are called The Threat.

When we closed our doors, you smuggled drugs to open markets.

When we embrace Free Trade, You blame us for taking away your jobs.

When we were falling apart, You marched in your troops and wanted your fair share.

When we tried to put the broken pieces back together again, Free Tibet you screamed, It Was an Invasion!

When tried Communism, you hated us for being Communist.

When we embrace Capitalism, you hate us for being Capitalist.

When we have a billion people, you said we were destroying the planet.

When we tried limiting our numbers, you said we abused human rights.

When we were poor, you thought we were dogs.

When we loan you cash, you blame us for your national debts.

When we build our industries, you call us Polluters.

When we sell you goods, you blame us for global warming.

When we buy oil, you call it exploitation and genocide.

When you go to war for oil, you call it liberation.

When we were lost in chaos and rampage, you demanded rules of law.

When we uphold law and order against violence, you call it violating human rights.

When we were silent, you said you wanted us to have free speech.

When we are silent no more, you say we are brainwashed xenophobics.

Why do you hate us so much, we asked.

No, you answered, we don’t hate you.We don’t hate you either,

But, do you understand us? Of course we do, you said,

We have AFP, CNN and BBC’s…

What do you really want from us?

Think hard first, then answer…

Because you only get so many chances.

Enough is Enough, Enough Hypocrisy for This One World.

We want One World, One Dream, and Peace on Earth.

This Big Blue Earth is Big Enough for all of Us.
